First off, I emailed a buncha female friends but I'm sure I missed plenty fine young women out there:

Girls' Night Out; December 28th, 7pm, my house, RSVP - bring anyone else femmie

Secondly, all the women I know are crying for a vacation. Obviously we need to take the bull by the horns ourselves. After the usual holiday madness, I'm all for pooling resources (or knowing how frenetically busy everyone is, doing it all myself if I have to) and renting a cabin somewhere for a weekend. Start looking at your calenders NOW ladies because I'm GOING TO DO THIS FOR YOU WHETHER YOU HELP ME OR NOT! I got some extra money this season. If I have to put the whole deposit down myself, I will... then won't you feel guilty for your paltry reasons for not going? Get his if nothing else: The cabin WILL be rented, it WILL be paid for and so you might as well go ahead and take advantage of it. I should only like to get a vote for what date this will transpire. If I don't get a definite date that everyone likes, I will just pick one far enough in advance.

Third, I'm going to start writing on my novel and my non-fiction book again. satia has guilted/inspired me to get moving on these left-in-the-air projects. If I was a competetive person, we could prolly really push each other in a seriously positive way. Sadly, I revolt at the idea of competition.

Fourth, Thank you shadesong (and everyone else) for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Let it be known that second son wailed a bit longer in the car until I spoke sharply to him. He shut up and was reasonably decent for the rest of the way home. Frankly, he was pretty mild that night. Ask sylkweb about how awful he can REALLY be. You ain't seen nothing yet! (LOL)

I was working on a novel about two years ago. The story went in a terrible direction and good authorities (Neil Gaiman and Stephen Brust) instructed me to put it aside and pick it up later to slice and dice.

I was also working on a non-fiction book that was nearing completion. I had about one chapter to finish, a conclusion to write and general editing before it was ready for mailing out.

I also own a violin. I sporadically play it but I adore doing so.

I own a piano that has yet to be tuned.

There is also the two bookshelves of boooks I have not read yet...
