F*@%k Yeah! Moments - the ones where the hero pulls off a victory (or an entrance) so surprising, so stunning, and so emotionally fulfilling that you leap out of your chair in a roar. His example is in Aliens. You know the one:
*Whrrrrrrr*
*Clomp clomp clomp clomp clomp clomp*
"Get away from her, you bitch."
the one that comes to mind right now is:
Book: Watership Down when Bigwig is defending the corridor against the crazed general (forgethisname) and near death for both of them, the general asks Bigwig to stand down. Bigwig replies "my captain has told me to defend this run and I will defend this run until he tells me to stop or I die" (or something very much like that) Then the general realizes that Bigwig is NOT the leader of the warren and suddenly faces the possibility that there is a bigger, bad-assier rabbit on down the way. He becomes afraid for the first time. Bigwig didn't say that specifically intending to scare the crap out of the general but it worked anyway. The general asks his second to "finish him off" and his second realizes the general is afraid and morale is completely lost among them all. The general goes outside to try to figure out how to still get out of this with dignity and that's when Hazel brings the dog.
I totally jumped in my seat and cheered for that whole scenario.
TV: nothing tops the moment when Mal kicks the bad-guy into the motor in "train job" from Firefly
Movie: my absolute favorite is probably when Trinity says "dodge this"
yours?

Date: 2005-10-26 07:18 pm (UTC)I LOVE that scene from the Train Job. "Dodge this" is good too. :)
Mine? Hmmm . . .I'll have to think on that (and thus probably never quite get around to responding).
