Two great movies. But Spider was pretty harrowing, wasn't it?

I caught Spider in the theaters. I liked the visuals, for the most part, and the feel Cronenberg creates, but somehow on this film I don't know if he really achieved his goal. I felt I knew where he was going, and what he was trying to do, but I don't know if he really succeeded...
