I don't usually post quizzes but
May. 15th, 2003 05:15 pmnot only do I really love this song, it does kinda reflect my attitude overall. It's not rude or arrogant, just clear-cut: I may seem this or that, but you really can't say until you understand me better.
I very much feel that those who know me well, or grok me intuitively, understand at the very least that much of me that seems negative is really my struggles and my remnants: all issues I am aware of and work on to varying degrees.
It's true, I can't stand criticism. Yes, yes, I'm okay with being WRONG but I can't stand being JUDGED. I'm not ashamed nor do I think that makes me "less-than-zen". I think criticism usually is given to people in order to put them in their place, to lessen someone's enjoyment or demean what they have accomplished.
Why is criticism usually given without acompanying praise? If criticism is truly constructive, it would be attached to mitigating qualifiers in order to show the contrast between what is "good" and what is "bad"
I want checks and balances, I want to be held accountable, I want to always know that I'm not running blindly down the path of foolishness.
I don't want to be pushed down though.
How hard it is to know the difference?

Walking In My Shoes--
you've been through a lot and just want others to
understand you before they judge you.
