bah

So I can't take Nzinga back to the shelter because they are full. The shelter manager I talked to agrees I need to get her a different home but his only advice was to try the petorphans website. Unfortunately, the petorphans website won't let you post without a minimum of $35 donation and frankly, they are innundated with pets just like Nzinga who run away and are cantankerous. Doesn't speak well of her chances. I will NOT take her to a kill-shelter, but this is getting to be a serious problem. At some point she is either going to get hurt or she's going to get picked up by animal control. I cannot chain her up INSIDE the house so what in blazes can I do? She has been so forceful and insistent about getting out the door that she actually knocked over our other dog who is NINETY pounds, part St, Bernard. Nzinga is 25-30 pounds herself but damn when she wants to be stubborn, she will do whatever to get her way.

It doesn't help that she's an older dog now, grey muzzle, who mostly wants to nap and be left alone. When she's not running all over the neighborhood terrorizing other dogs.

Add to that, she has a limp, and has a large patch of hairless scar tissue over her back flank (where her surgeries were) which makes her rather unattractive.
