Hypocracy on parade

i just checked my poll and got a sudden thought; "what an incredibly stupid thing to poll people about!"

I mean, the question ought to be, "hey Cass, do you feel like talking about this?" and then I put it behind a cut. Why in the world should I be concerned about my post's popularity? And well, I'm not really concerned about my post's popularity, i'm just worried that perhaps I'm getting too self-absorbed. I'm always worried about being too self-absorbed. After all, being locked into your own world means you miss out on other people's worlds. I hate waking up and realizing that I don't have a clue as to what's happenning to someone else. Then I feel like an asshole, not to mention ignorant! More than anything, I don't want to write a bunch of stuff that makes the people I care about say "get over it, yeesh!" or "poor lil Cass - she's such a basket case!"
so what do I do? I put up a poll asking for permission to post my feelings about something. Gah, that's so NOT ME!
