This happened to [livejournal.com profile] mermaidblue last week, too.

This is a comment that has nothing to do with your entry. Instead, it has to do with your bio.

See, I like to argue . . . unfortunately, I don't think most people understand what I mean by an argument--most of them would just consider it a discussion. Worse still is that staggering numbers of people who believe that they are skilled in argument and debate simply aren't. Too many of them get personally wrapped up in their argument and so become incapable of conceeding the smallest point, even when it has been proven wrong. It's really rather annoying.

That's not a comment towards you, since I've read all of about three entries in your journal. But, assuming your bio isn't just a pack of lies (I don't believe that it is, but after all . . . anything's possible, right? Image) I think you'll get what I'm saying.

Anyway, nice to "meet" you.

wow

a man after my own heart.

I concede your points and concur whole-heartedly.

I have a small reputation for being "argumentative" and "driven to win" by some, "skilled debator" and "tolerant" to others.

There's nothing in a debate more fun than finding out something you didn't know before. Why people won't allow for the possibility of being misinformed or inaccurate is beyond me. It's how I learn best: by making a mistake and being corrected.

If you are amused by watching a bad debator make afool of himself, I suggest you look up my argument with [livejournal.com profile] jerseygirl1 and another one with [livejournal.com profile] vaderstg. Both are in my memories.

Welcome new friend!

I find that attempting to edit filters via the web produces very odd results. Editing them via a client seems to work much better.

Don't get paranoid if it seems like I'm not adding you to my friends list--I am truly lazy, and quite often will manually read somebody's journal for a long time prior to adding them. Not out of any wish to keep them from reading my friends-only entries (I post very few of them) but purely out of laziness.

Now, you may wish to ask: "But wouldn't it be easier to just add new people to your friends list, rather than continuing to read their journals manually?"

Absolutely.

However, laziness is a difficult phenomeon to explain. The truly lazy understand.
